• The motherboard is where all the other components connect to
• There is a special socket on the it where the CPU connects
• The types of motherboards are mini, normal and extended
• Some motherboards contain slots for more memory and others for gaming

• Video is displayed on your computer by the graphics card
• Like playing video games? Invest in a good graphics card
• This is usually the most expensive component in the PC

Hard Drive

• This is the component that stores all your data
• SSD drives are very fast but can be expensive
• Regular HDD's are larger in size, slower, but cheaper

• Random access memory let you run many programs at the same time

• There is performance ram and averade speed ram for cheap PC's
• Ram can get unique with some sticks having built in LED lights

• This is one part of the PC that can truly be very customizable
• LED lights are built into some cases that change colors
• Cases can have glass Side panels that allow you to see into the case
• Some people go really crazy and use automotive paint to cover their cases

Power Supply

• Depending on the components in your PC you may need a large power supply
• For example top tier graphics cards will require a lot of power
• Power supplies have 4 different tiers that can handle different loads
• The power supply must handle the components or they won't function

CPU Cooler

• CPUs get very hot when they're doing intensive tasks
• Tasks such as video editing can cause this
• To avoid this problem you should have a CPU cooler installed
• These coolers can be either air cooling or liquid cooling

• Though not as popular as they once were media drives can still be useful
• These drives can be Blu Ray, DVD, or even contain memory card readers
• The reasons that these drives are becoming less popular is digital media
